We are a story of God's kindness.

Back in the late 1990s, the evening service at central St Ebbe’s was at capacity in terms of numbers, and something needed to be done if we were to grow further.

Many of us lived in east Oxford. After much prayer, discussion and consultation, we were able to start an evening service in September 2001, meeting in Headington School.

Since then God has enabled so much to happen.

For example:

In 2009,

we started a morning congregation, meeting originally in Cheney School;

we bought the building on Lime Walk (pictured), thanks to the generosity of many, and moved in after a year of refurbishment;

we added a third service, meeting at 3:30.

Over the years since, we have been able to add to the staff team, as church family has grown in number as well.

We have run craft nights, sports quizzes, wine tastings, curry evenings, family fun days, summer Holiday Bible Clubs, Christmas events, parenting courses, weekends away - and run various initiatives to help share the Christian faith as well as serving the local community.

We have welcomed people from many nationalities and all ages – from round the corner as well as round the world.

We are thrilled to play our part in a new church plant, Grace Church Cowley, which began in September 2019.

We thank God for his provision for us (and the many healthcare workers in the church family) during the difficult months of Covid-19.
